Left work early to head to dad's - where Danyal and Louise had already arrived. Spent the evening playing with Ollie and AJ - before playing Jackbox games with everyone. Stayed up with Dad and Tiz for new years

Rush of people back in the office - had a good 1:1 with Chris this morning.  Lunch with Cassidy, Cian, and Hanna at Japanese. Second round of the simxp Xmas challenge, did much better this time - particularly in the figure 8's in the postal vans

Made crepes for breakfast for the first time - easier than I expected. Went to Alex's and had coffee - then into Toombul to buy fitted sheets for AJs bunk bed, and new grey cushions for the couch.

Went to Park Run at 6:30am, but nobody was there - so I went for a run to Ashgrove. On the way back, I saw the Park Run group was assembled - so I stopped and joined in, making it two runs. Serviced Nathan's Focus, then my 86 - took way too much oil out of my car.

Dropped AJ at daycare in my car before work for the first time. Quiet day at work with Cian, Tony, and myself there - they all left by 2pm, so I was by myself for the last few hours. Left work early - picked up AJ - then assembled his Thomas the Tank Engine Rollercoaster style toy he got from Opa

Morning at Dad and Tiz's - went to North lakes for the Boxing day sales and looked at games and TVs. Tim took me to show me some shirts he liked. Afternoon at Ba Ngoi's where we had food and AJ watched a little of Home Alone.

Bribie for Christmas breakfast with mum and Boyd - met his sons Matthew and James for the first time. Night at Dad and Tiz's - where we played Jackbox party on the TV together.

Last day in the office - went to the shops to get tiramisu ingredients for tomorrow. Forgot the ameretto, so took AJ to Kelvin Grove Urban Village and got it, before giving him time to play on the big stones outside Caraway Pier fish shop.

SimXP Christmas event - raced 'The Beast' presidential limos with a 'blue shell mode' style system where an alarm went off and the person in 1st had to come to a complete stop.

Dropped AJ off to Boyd's place at Bribie Island - watched him cook sand crabs. They watched AJ as we watched Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker  at North Lakes.

Day at the beach at Maloolaba with Tim, Dad, and Tiz - dad tried to surf and we tackled each other off the boards. Dinner out - AJ and Tim played with the coloured table lights - Dad help two of them up to AJ to look like breasts

Final Christmas roast lunch at work - then drove up to the coast for a weekend away. Couldn't get the wifi at the Airbnb - stupidly thought the network name was whiskeymangotango when it was just mangotango

Came home - AJ had broken the RCA jacks to the speakers by pulling the speaker out - but thankfully the pins snapped out of the jacks, and not inside them.

First time doing an escape room with the S&D team for Christmas - did a prison break where we were split into two teams. Did OK - but didn't make it to the very end, and had to rely on a few hints.

Met with Layla for the first time at work - we shared similar views on a number of points. Home got a run - then wrote a reference for Ngoc for a Thai company she applied to.

Came home to a boisterous AJ - who was attached to my leg like a koala licking my jeans as I ate pizza and tried to relax. He found it hilarious to hold onto my leg as I tried to walk around

Gym with Alex in the evening - PB 1RM squat of 140kg. Wasn't great depth, but was otherwise good. 1.2h enduro race - first time I did a shoot out quali, and managed 8th of 9.

First night we've left AJ with Jas and mum. Took Julie to dinner at Eagle St, followed by a movie.

Went to Dave's 34th birthday party at Chermside - talked to Curt and then played DDR with Dave at the arcade.

Tried to have fun with a Hyundai i30 N with a big orange stripe on the way home - no interest. First long run on the new Kipchoge shoes - was going ok until I got something in my eye in the Botanic gardens.

Drove Hanna from work home back to her apartment, where she's staying as she's over here from Malaysia. Went to the gym - bumped into Natalie and Luci at the entrance, where we talked about Luci's job situation and Nat and I went into the gym as Luci left to go home.

SimXP race night - Escorts at Bathurst. Just couldn't string it together and finished last in both races, with best laps seconds behind everyone. Stuck around after to watch the 2019 SimXP awards YouTube video - laughed at the Beyblade incident being voted the best of the year.

Met with Don at work - got his feedback on our target approach, portfolio view, and agreed to try a first customer project through the mechanism. We sat in the Fish Bowl room at the front of the office - and shared stories on martial arts.

Hung out with Julie's friends at Redcliffe. The markets were on, but we just stayed at the park just beyond the end of the market.

Morning Cars & Coffee run with Adam - first time I've taken him out there, or in the 86. Did a mountain run after. Netherworld with the work crew in the evening - played monopoly and won.

Caught the CEO, Andrew, on the way in - and we talked about some business topics. This lead to a meeting shortly after, which turned into a rather robust discussion together.

Took home books from work - they're free so I grabbed leaders eat last and another one on mental models.

Helped Susan prepare for a client meeting - she got rather upset, but we sorted it out with Don. Raced the Escorts at classic Imola with SimXp, came last.

First run on the street with the new Nike shoes like th Kipchoge marathon record shoes. Ran the short 6k loop around Victoria Park and the Hospital.

Drove home from work and had some 'fun' with a blue Golf R coming into the city just near the Clem 7 merge. Gave a thumbs up as he pulled off to exit.

Took AJ to play on the indoor gym outside JB at Chermside. We say another Asian family there from his day care

Saw Jon, Lauren, and Caeden today at the Emporium hotel - we went to Belissimo for coffee

Power shutdown at 4pm at work - went to the gym to get the group to do 1RM for the first time. Managed a 110kg 1RM for a new PB (up 5kg)

First lunch with the GO1 team - driving into Springwood to Mrs Kays for burgers.

First simxp race with the setup in the garage - F1 with the 2009 cars at Abu Dhabi. Took out Freestone on the second last corner to take 8th

Mixed up my day with Nimish (QUT Mentee) after he didn't reply to confirm the time - rushed home for a second interview that I felt went much better with this software company. Not sure I want to join them in a pure PSO role only.

Interview tonight with the Indian lady from the software company, she seemed very values-driven - it was rather refreshing.

Washed the cars - noticed the bat poo had eaten the paint off the roof and bonnet of the Skoda. Went to the gym and got my first 4 rep out at 100kg.

Crashed over lunch - woke up to Christina downloading movies off our media server. Went quickly to Tim's concern - realized I was driving behind mum after getting frustrated the driver in front was driving poorly.

Whiteboard people and Go1 Christmas parties - learned to draw compelling diagrams with Whiteboardpeople, then met the Go1 crew in the Queen St mall - after which had a scotch with Jared at a whisky bar.

Signed up with Oncore for my contrZgroe payroll and insurance and submitted my first invoice through. Had to do health and safety and discrimination training online.

First time at the Good Life gym at Springwood with Jared - few power racks, but there's an MMA cage inside the building.

Got a call from Adam asking for a reference - talked to him the whole drive home from the office at Underwood to the gym at Newstead. He talked about being moved on under probation.

First time driving to work since the pulleys were fixed - wasn't as bad as I expected, but I did miss traffic. Late kick-off call with the Release Communication work - should be a simple Salesforce Blacklist/Whitelist implementation.

Caught up with mum in the afternoon - we had coffee at the bowling alley come bar in the new area at Chermside.

Dropped the Prado back at dads house and fixed the worn idler pulleys on my 86. Had coffee with Tiz, and she showed me the flooding video of Venice.

Usual Friday powerlifting session - Ric invited me for beers with Julian and Teddy afterwards, so we say them and enjoyed a drink over at the Defiant Duck.

Reviewed our year compass over wine with Julie - struggled to setup the Alexa to play music while we did it. Worked past midnight to launch the initial portfolio for Thomas.

Bumped into Luci at the gym with her PT, she wanted to chat to me about the potential new job she's been alluding to. Went home and raced with SimXP, first time in the new Supra - rage quit out after spinning so many times.

Walked into the house talking to Nathan, to have a naked AJ run to me and have to quickly say goodbye to Nathan. Called Bec and talked on our balcony to get feedback on my work and how to approach the portfolio change engagement.

Very hazy day with the fires - went to Kangaroo Point and parked near Julie's old house, then ran along the river. It was a stupid idea in the weather - but called Shaun to chat after I got back to the car

Took AJ out in dad's Prado to replace our modem that died overnight. AJ swam with Jas in the afternoon, pooing in his swimming nappy.

LAN party - discovered the zombie match style for PUBG, and played Cosmoteer. Messed up the D&D Eric did when Laughlin removed the implant that would have told him what to do.

Gym after work - first time Nathalie, Luci's friend, came along. Got the Lamborghini car back off Tyas to give to Thomas as a gift on Monday.

Drove to the office at Underwood in the Prado for the first time - it was so much more relaxing just wafting along being so high up. Gym after work - where I parked behind Indian Motorcycles and went inside, only then realizing it wasn't quite late enough for the free zone to kick in.

Fixed Julie's mum's ensuite shower, then drove to Dad's to swap cars to the Prado as I'm waiting on the new pulleys for the 86.

Got home to set up AJ's bunk bed - went up pretty quick all things considering, although there were two bolts missing I had to steal from the headboards.

Rushed out of the office after working late to get to basketball - jarred my hip on the first rehound, and got shoulder charged over and split my lip.

First solo mountain run in dad's M3 with Dave Boyle, then home for a day with AJ. Took AJ to Ballymore to kick the soccer ball, but he just ran around the ticket as stalls throwing it.

Pulled down AJ's cot - and set his mattress on the floor with the teepee above it for him while we wait for the bunk bed on Tuesday. Dropped dad's Prado back at his house - and picked up the M3, before having coffee with Alex and Andy. He had Harley and Declan there - and we toyed with them telling them there were two stone rabbits to find and kept giving them misleading 'hot' or 'cold' statements as they walked aroun.d

First Friday at Go1 - they do lunch for all staff and a weekly update, which was really nice. Drove back to gym with Dave Foster and pushed him to squat more than his bodyweight.

First time talking to the new line manager - he seemed good and was up late to chat with me while working out of the US. Had a sushi lunch with Jared across the road. Home for a run, and a call with Cehrin to hear that Temando is moving on the next wave of staff tomorrow.

First day at Go1 - got to spend time with Nathalie, Thomas, and Jared - along with a bunch of others. Realised I made a bit of a mess with my contract, but Shaun is helping me sort it out.

Took AJ and Julie to buy a bunk bed at Underwood - he refused to come out from behind a car bed, and we found out why after as he had a huge poo in his pants. I changed it in the car, and it rolled off the dirty nappy onto the clean one - getting some poo on my band and the change matt.

Aus Post delivered the shoes I ordered for AJ and myself to the unit, two pairs of Nikes. Talked to Bec, who invited me to meet Qsuper with her tomorrow about maturity and DevOps.

Took AJ to the Wildlife Park at The Gap - and was surprised to discover the resouviour there. I didn't know it was there - and saw it full of people and watercraft

Hungover after drinks with Mark, so Julie and I had a very quiet day at home relaxing. I got her to drop me off to pickup my car, then I came home and put everything back in place in the garage after finishing the painting.

Coffee with Alex, then a massage at Aspley Hyperdome (or whatever it's now called) - then a drive into Samford, sitting down at the park there and waiting for a call from AccessHQ. Drove Nebo afterwards - before an evening of lifting, with Sam coming along to powerlifting for the first time. Then afterwards, we had beers with Mark Simpson - back from VN.

'Something Digital' conference today - having been invited by the AccessHQ team along. Has beers afterwards - and realized the Mark I was talking to was actually a Mark I've met before, he dated one of Kelly's (Dennis' old ex) friends...

Coffee with Nath and Alex - before preparing and then meeting with the AccessHQ CEO and directors at W Hotel in the city for some beers. Saw a SWAT team style inflatable boat go past in the river.

Meeting with Thomas - drove to a cafe nearby Go1 and had a latte with him talking about opportunities. Then went to Ba Ngoi's house and painted her master bedroom.

Got my exhaust fixed so it's not hitting the driveshaft, then came home and painted most of the garage before I ran out of paint.

Afternoon at Evan and Hermione's house for Charlie's first birthday - it was on a narrow street in an 80s brick house in Lutwyche. The kids decorated paper hats, then I drew a dead body style chalk outside of AJ on the concrete.

AJ crashed into me as I was sitting on the phone to mum, and proceeded to bike my penis through my shorts. 

Meeting with Mark from AccessHQ at Billycart at West End - got on well, talked a lot about books, scotch, the Agile movement as a whole, and explored that they do. He gave me a lift home after - we walked past a beautiful red E-type Jag parked in the carpark.

Beer with Dave Boyle in the evening - we cancelled a drive to hang out. The girl singing at the Story Bridge Hotel was so loud.

Met with Kelvin at Chermside over a coffee from Archer coffee - watched AJ run around the courtyard, running along the garden edges and pushing the pram around. He pushed it up the steep embankment, then let it roll down - forcing me to jump out of my seat and grab it.

Second time to see Margie @ Trevor-Roberts for feedback on my resume/cover letter. Accidentally I thought it was 11am, so drove to Toowong early. Ended up getting lunch for Julie/AJ while I was there - then walked back past a white Porsche 718 GTS, went home, then came back later.

Woke up at 4am and 6am with AJ having runny poos and feeling rather unwell - spent most of the day sleeping and watching movies with him.

Coffee with Andy and Emma at Teralba Park - went to Brookside after with Andy following, and the boys all had lots of fun playing as Andy looked for new shoes for Harley.

Watched Kipchoge break the 2h marathon for the first time - Christina was over after we'd just given her Julie's old Galaxy Note 4.

Went to the Porsche dealer with Alex - looked at a bunch of 718's and a 991.2 GT3 in black with Martini stripes. It was raining, so we had to run from the car into the showroom.

Worked at the state library this morning for the first time - sat across the table from a young Asian student who was wearing a had made of cardboard pieces of packaging.

Wrote my learning from LAST 2019, then got a call from dad to give him a lift home after dropping his M3 in for some warranty repairs. Julie arrived home and the door jammed shut - had to call Jas and Laughy for help. Butchered the door into pieces to get it to open again - thankfully the new door has been ordered.

Julie fainted today after feeling light headed after gym - I caught her falling just outside our bedroom, sat her down, then got her over into bed. Declined the offer to 3Dot Digital, then had a call with the team at ShippIt.

Second basketball game - won by a point in overtime, then drove to Ipswich to pickup fog light surrounds. Took my shoe off at home, discovered my big toe on my right foot is split right open and had been bleeding.

Saw mum for the first time in 6 months - I invited her around for a coffee. Took AJ to the park, where he found an opened seed pod that looked like a starfish -  he took it home with us.

Took AJ to Sandgate, dad came and we setup the toddler seat on his bike - and he took AJ for rides up and down the esplanade

First LAST conference I've been to - was a great day listing to the people there and learning. Met James and Mark from a quality consulting firm, Melody from Auto & General, and Arthur who was focused on behavioural psychology. Got a call from the CEO of the startup group - expect to get another offer from him on Monday.

Meeting with Bec from Whiteboardpeople, talked about some opportunities and shared stories on the challenges of writing. She gave me her book 'Accelerate' to read. Follow up meeting with the startup group - it was a very odd session, where I felt I was being sold to. They never answered my money concerns.

First day to try and relax since Temando shut-down - got my wheel back from Stylish wheels, then spent the morning with Alex over coffee. Went for a drive up Mt Cootha - had a pair of kids on BMX bikes hear me coming along the top, and gave me the signal to rev the car - albiet, they did it like a motorcycle by holding their hands out like holding handlebars and rotating their hand to rev the bike. First race in the Escorts for Team Drop Bear Racing - did OK in the second race.

First interview with a tech start-up, quickly turned into three interview - first with the COO, then with the innovation evangelist, and then a few hours later with the CEO. Surprised when the CEO told me the salary - it was significantly below market. I ran the CEO through scrum, and the specific application we had in our organization.

Home from Toowoomba, and played lego with AJ - and we made a pair of race cars with front and rear wings (F1 style) and raced around the ottoman in the middle of the room. Forced AJ to sleept without Julie - had to go in/out multiple times as he wailed on and off for a long time. He started to settle, asking me to wipe his nose each time I went in towards the end - then finally asking me to stay and lay down with him.

Japanese gardens visit - AJ kept running circles around the centre island past two dolled up younger Chinese ladies who kept smiling at him. Dinner at a pub, huge field behind it that we ran on with the kids - along with them running around the multiple tiers of outdoor dining area.

Went to the carnival of flowers - there were a huge number of bees flying around the gardens. Played "You've got crabs" for the first time with Eric, Christina, Lauren, and Jon

Bus info the city to meet recruiter at the cafe outside Barpacino. An aboriginal lady took a TV onto the bus from Herston lodge, asking about cash converters Had hanaichi with Nath, then bought Julie a purse as an anniversary gift. Drove to Toowoomba after picking up Julie

Caught up with Simon Andrews for the first time in forever over a beer with Shaun, was good to see him - as it's the first time in a very long time.

Morning coffee and cake with Jess at The Brickhouse - trying to forget the day that was yesterday and the Temando shutdown. Lunch with Dusan for sushi at The Barracks, following by an afternoon of manic recruiter calls.

Was told Temando was shutting down, and made redundant. Relieved to finally have closure for what has been a really difficult last few months.

Heard the latest batch of rumours about work acquisitions today, followed by going with Adam to see his new bike. Then played my first basketball game in 18 years with Matt, with Jess joining to watch after netball.

Bunk bed shopping with AJ - he fell in love with the red race car bed at A-mart at Virginia. Had dinner at Sunnybank with Juile's mum at the Vietnamese restaurant in the main food court, where AJ quick tipped his chair over when we arrived - but he was OK. Evening with Alex at the gym - gave him a lift to GYG to grab his dinner, then gave him a lift home as his mom took her car back for a few days.

Issy's 3rd birthday in the morning - missed the turn into the park that ran parallel Logan Rd. After I dropped my wheel back at Stylish Wheels to get the marks look at under warranty - not sure if it was the right decision, as the marks were so minor. Still - better try. Evening at Dad's to celebrate Jas & Laughy's engagement - spent most of the time chatting to Tiz about work - our company issues are very similar between us both.

Arrived at work and realised I left my laptop at home in my car, after hiding it in the car while at the gym after getting the wheels the day before. Had to drive home and back, after organising to take Julie's car. Police were standing on Butterfield St with a radar gun - first time I've seen them there.

Ducked off work early to get my new Koya wheels finally fitted. Took a while at Tyre City, but it was a huge improvement. Downside was they showed me the lip of one wheel has some of the powdercoat chipped off.

Mounted the initiative board to the wall today - still getting good interest and engagement from the team, so that felt good. Home for F1 Singapore race in the '93 Williams F1 car - I'd say my best performance yet, even though the results didn't line up (a couple of spins did me in - but otherwise it was some good hard racing)

Went to the gym after work, got caught in unexpected rain after leaving - so waited briefly for it to pass than ran home. Had a car drive through a puddle and soak my foot. Gave a referee report for Ric in the evening sitting outside my unit, got interrupted by a person I didn't recognise. Talked to him after the call, he was the person who's car was parked out front who we called the cops on. He explained his situation with his rego accidentally expiring, and the car that hit him from behind (Alicia's car - our neighbour)

Kicked off the continuous improvement initiatives with the Service Desk teams. They were a bit quiet, but it felt good overall. Only got definition of done complete - then the fire alarm went off. Drove to Dave's after work to pickup Julie's mouse, and checked our his awesome new OLED TV.

Took AJ to his first concert - a regurgitator kids show at the Tivoli. He was reluctant to join in at first, but then ran off and proceeded to dance and have fun.

Finally was able to call Jas to congratulate her on her engagement. Julie, AJ and I then walked to the markets - where an old man on a mobility chair stopped to ask if AJ wanted to pat his dog riding on it. The dog barked at a passer by, so AJ nor I were keen to pat it. In the evening I removed the old sealant from the shower, then put in new sealant. The first attempt was a mess and didn't stick at all.

Powerlifting after work - first time Tyas joined us, which made things easier for Luci. Caught up with Diego and Adrian afterwards, and had some drinks at Mrs Browns, then food at Ribs & Rumps, then onto Gerards bar for some Old Fashioned's before we walked home.

Squash with the guys - had a bit of a race between Kelvin Grove and Red Hill backstreets with an M140i.

First meeting with the support team at Magento after taking on the new role, meeting some new people on their side. Julie messaged me an had a crappy day, so after a gym session I bought her magnum knock-off ice cream at Aldi and took them home to have together.

Exhibition night with the SimXP guys - got my first podium in the buses around Spa with a 2nd place, then backed it up with a 4th place in the drift bus.

First team meeting with the new Support & Operations team - felt it went well, although they were all pretty quiet when it comes to questions. Home where dad called and organized to look after AJ tomorrow morning.

Make a peanut butter and pretzel slice today for Dave and Vin who came over for afternoon tea. I started painting the garage, far more onerous than I expected.

Picked up my new Koya wheels this morning, then went to look at bunk beds with AJ. Julie crashed out early with AJ after the girls night out, I stayed up and watched John Wick 3 - then the F1 monza quali.

Left work early - talked to Alison as we walked up the hill together, her talking about a play date that she was uneasy about on the weekend. Picked up AJ early, and drove into the city - he spent the entire time saying "City" and "Tower", before parking near GOMA. We ate Nandos quickly, then went down to see the water display for the opening night of Brisbane Festival.

Sally's last day at work - rather sad to see her go. Had final handover, and then went down to the Defiant Duck after work for farewell drinks and talked to the team about my plans for the support and ops department. Ran home from work - first day today to run both to and from work, and felt good doing it.
