Digital Memory Palace

Tried to turn into the service station of herston Rd, a car tried to exit the driveway at the same time, and I had my traction control freak out as I had one wheel up in the air. 

Moved my desk out of the booth and into a regular desk - spend the day standing to help improve my back (it did). I wasn't last out of the office - instead, I had to show Shirrin where the light switch is.

Had to wait too long for breakfast at the first place we found, had to go to a second. Really had my heart set on pancakes after Jon mentioned them - but the backup cafe didn't have them. Walked out to see Rob's Mazda 6 over the other side of the road - drove home to Brisbane with Kai crying most of the way.

Went for a run in the back streets of Tamborine - I underestimated just how huge the hills are there, and had to regularly walk up steep sections. Left dinner too late to get groceries at the IGA - found a pizza shop open so went there and ordered. Poor little Caedan slipped and hit his ear on a pole.

Drove to Tamborine to have a weekend away with Jon, Lauren, and Christina. Found out they're having twins. Jon and I tried to light a fire (unsuccessfully) after gorging ourselves on a meat platter at the local Hickory restaurant. Burned my lips on a jalapeno popper.

 Made an offer on our US role (finally) - it's been a long journey since it started in August 2020

First team retrospective with the new Product team - focusing on unpacking our OKRs, and teaching them brainwriting for generating ideas.

Coffee with Dan Forster at New Farm. Really awesome to catch up with and hear how he's doing. 

Hungover after the night out. Spewed in the office, but largely managed to keep it together for the day. Flew home on what nearly an empty plane. I had the steward caution me about moving seats before take off. 

Onboarded Drew, and caught up with the AU sales leaders for dinner. We drank way too much - and I stumbled home 

Took the boys to mums house and got her to mind them while I helped boy move the black couch. We filled the garage with the furniture I flew out to Melbourne in the evening. Firs time flying since COVID, it was full and we were all wearing masks. Walked to find food when I got to the hotel - the Char Kway Teow place I wanted was closed, so I grabbed some maccas 

Drove to the Gold Coast to see Danyal and Louise. Jas, Tim, and Mum were there. Jas, Tim and I played tag in the park

Had the first full P&E demo session - had a chat about the vision on Segments with Clem

We kicked off the content partner pipeline - went well 

6am start in the office for a meeting - then the interview after didn't show. Booked my flights to Melbourne to meet Drew 

Key was being a pain this morning after fixing it yesterday - took a screwdriver to work just in case. Met the new developer we're trying to woo, talked to him around our product and tech strategy over coffee 

Left work to go to Newmarket to get Julie flowers in a mason jar and ice cream for her birthday. I was greeted at the door with a boisterous AJ plastered in Paddington bear stickers 

Signed the contract at Brighton homes, then picked up AJ and took Julie to an early birthday lunch at Newstead. AJ didn't want to play with me inside the gas storage structure 

Picked my car up from towing - last car there. Went to dads, he and Tiz gave AJ his first bike we built and taught him to ride. The boys played in Tiz's new convertible. Went to the beach - AJ came back from the sand flats covered in mud. 

Farewell for Revenue Projects - had my car towed and had to walk home from the valley. The lady on the phone was lovely though. 

Had my first coaching session with Layla - was honest where I'm at, but came away more terrified about my skill gaps for the new role. 

Finally fixed stitcher - after they updated the app and it stopped working. Talked to Clem about the Hays API escalation - and we talked for ages about Product strategy 

Came home unwell - both boys were awake and waiting for me. Crashed into bed with them, before a short stint in AJ's bed to watch shows, before going back to bed. 

Took AJ out to kick the football at Ballymore - dodged the puddles from the rain. He tried to ride the exercise bike near the stadium, but just turned the barrel with his legs as they were too short to reach the pedals. 

Catch up at dads was cancelled - so Jas came around. We went out to get coffee from belessimo and lunch supplies - saw a murder of cross waiting on the balcony. Crashed to sleep after she left feeling unwell 

Julie went on a road trip to look at the Preston design. Boyd's birthday party - I sat and talked with Simon. 

Ba Ngoi came around and Julie and her wrapped the spring rolls for Boyd's birthday tomorrow.

Had a team member feeling the stress of the major partner release in the US. I told them to get themselves dinner on work.
