Digital Memory Palace

Picked up my computer parks from the post office at Kelvin Grove - the girl struggled to find my pc case. She had a shirt with xray rib bones on it - and unusually fat arms given her smaller proportions. 

Took the boys riding - second time AJ rode without training wheels. He stacked it a few times, but did well. We had a rest in the park with lolly pops, I was exhausted and had to sit down.  Drinks with Andrew F and his wife at Mary May's at the Powerhouse. Learned that he had lost his job, which was sad to hear. 

Took the family for a Christmas photos at Indooroopilly - we bought a bunch of nerf guns and ate lunch at two round tables, staring at the hand washing sink.

Missed out on work lunch as there's had already taken it. Ordered a breakfast burger and chips instead. Talked to Jon/Jasneet at length about all things Go1

Roadmap session with Audric and Werner - showed them the content health score work. 

Drove to see Luke B for lunch - first time since he left Go1. Talked his business idea, UXmas, and life. 

Caught up with Stacie to talk all things cost savings and consolidation. Talked for an hour and a half. 

Woke up still feeling unwell - struggled to concentrate with sinus pressure. Tried to work and failed. My nose got all gross by the end of the day, with sores inside and out. 

Cleared the side garden, clothes lines, and started on the fence with Brandon. We filled three bins, and still have huge piles of green waste we need to get rid of.

Woke up with the whole house sick - shivered all day and just rested and did very little. We were too sick to even bother getting Indian take out. 

Caught up with Michelle on the couch - she told me what exactly happened with Chris that led to the DVO. She cried and i felt terrible I couldn't do anything to help. 

Jumped on a last minute call with the ADP team to help them out with some items on adoption of external id's with Tim - shooting off from Jon's AMA 

Caught up with Nikita, my old mentee, to help her approach applications for a new role. Guided her on updating her resume to not show as a Junior anymore. 

Caught up with Jared as a final goodbye. Had a long session with Judith, the legal council from Blinkist, on all things contract consolidation. 

Caught up with Pramudi for a coffee at the office - as he Qs in town for a day to present our GenAI work. 

Met Al's daughter and husband - sat around taking outside most of the day watching boats go past the Bribie holiday house. Watched and old guy in a large catermanean go out, turn around, come back, and go out again.  The kids were exhausted and slept on the drive home. 

Ran and found a path at Bribie. Ended up at the national park - nodding hello to everyone I passed.  Christmas lunch at the Bribie holiday house with the Bui family. We all got nerf guns and had a big nerf fight. The kids swam in the pool all afternoon. 

Woke up tense, sneezing, and barely able to focus. I called in sick, then went back to sleep until 10am. I slowly got progressively better throughout the day - before driving to the Bribie holiday house with mum and Al. 

SLT meeting after the large lay-offs - it was good to see how open they were with cash flow and that helped relieve the stress of the firings.

Met the tilers on site to see their work. They were confused, but then Nigel turned up and we had a look through together. The street was packed with cars - but it didn't help the Indian guy who parked his camry at an angle, sticking out so cars could barely get through. 

Woke up to the email about the lay off's. Heard about Amy, Tessa, Marylyn, Ollie and many others. It was a blood bath. 

Marylyn messaged - she found out she was being made redundant through Jared's calendar. I called to talk to her about it. 

Took the boys to the netball fields for bike riding for Evan's birthday. AJ didn't want to ride - but I make him ride his big bike. He did a great job learning, and within a while was riding all by himself around the courts. Had a seemingly random skateboarder say hello - it was Matt, from Matt and Lauren. Enzo lost one gumboot - running around in a wet sock. 

AJ came for his first run with me - we managed 2.46km and he did really well, considering. Sushi with the cousins for Evan's birthday - the kids sat together and kept grabbing plates.

Session with AB/CE - introduced 1Platform and talked about the early SCORM work we were doing that got them excited. Came home to sim race with Dave and Nath - we did a bunch of races, Austria and Spa in GT3 cars - I really pumped by the end of it. 

Luke B walked me through the team changes for design - it was going to be a blood bath. MBR for 1Platform, Jon couldn't make it and Seb had to leave early - so it was a bit of a fizzer. But feedback was good. 

Late night with Flo to work through how he's going with Hygraph - he's facing all the same change challenges we're experiencing at Go1 with migration. 

Met with Ashley hwo showed me how to approach the back end migration work for analytics.
