Digital Memory Palace

Mum came around, for coffee - then I spent the day playing Baldur's Gate 3 while the boys built a Lego tank tread snow plough. I snuck off to see the house build, to see the new temporary stairs installed, instead of the previous ladder. 

Slept really late - was exhausted after the week that was. Took the boys out to Hercules park to hang out with Al and to play with their cousins. I parked in the driveway, and the boys got ice cream. We went to grilled after for burgers. 

Breakfast with Casey - told me about his son being unmotivated for college. It was good to connect with him before I left. Huge line at the airport, and once I got through I had to quickly drink the water I just bought as they wouldn't allow it on the plane.  The German family in front of me were pissed they couldn't bring water for their children. 

Went out for a vegetarian dinner with Jasneet, Hoa, and the team. Laughed at the sass that Alex gave throughout. We walked to the walking street - watched some performances, and laughed as the team had snakes put on them. We ended the night in a rooftop bar - it was too loud, but we got them to turn it down.

Day 2 of the conference - helped Khanh with the ES call, then later we went to the Saigon Grill for dinner. I talked to Thy, who told me about her worries with her son starting a new school and his deformities.  We ended up at a bar, where I put my foot in it talking to Arthur and asking Jon for clarity on his role. 

First actual day of TechGether with the team. We ended the day at a seafood restaurant that had huge tanks of fish. After I messaged Toan, and he took me to see Yen at her restaurant, where we had a hotpot and talked.

First day in the Vietnam office - I was surprised to see the security man at the entry gate. I saw Laura sitting alone, and went in to say hello - finding Dester eating orange noodles for breakfast.

Flew out to Ho Chi Minh with Tim, Jasneet and Shangzhi. Helped a woman on the flight to Singapore. Then got stuck at the gate after the bus transfer at Singapore. Just made the flight.  Met up with Ricardo and Tim for jellyfish and frogs legs. 

We went to Alex's and talked about Nath - then onto Chermside where I got VN Dong and the guy talked about his new system, after heritage bank wouldn't give me currency. Ran past the Ekka 

ADP showcase on my day off - but we managed to get endorsed. Played Assetto with Dan from work for the first time, Dave joined us. We started with Cobra's on the Nurburgring 

Interview training with Jon and the Eng leaders. At the start, we all complained about the power point behaviour on a mac. 

Watched the Matlidas vs England - wonderful goal by Kerr, but Australia had very poor defense. 

Met Dave for dinner at Mt Gravatt pub - had to do a loop and parked on a side street. The burger didn't sit well at soccer. 

Session with Aimee on sync - apologised to her after being informed of the tone of my comments we're appropriate. 

Played in the driveway with Kai - a ute with a trailer came down to pick up a couch from someone. Ran with Kai in the pram, them stopped by the party AJ was at, at the hockey club on the other side of the creek. 

Mum came around and I drove her out to the house to see it. Some workers were going up the scaffolding. We squeezed past into the house. Later we had drinks at the Blind Tiger with the body corp committee - trying to calm the situation, and to find a path forward. Came home to watch the Matlidas beat France in a penalty shoot out at the world cup. 

Started migration planning for CG V2.0 with Casey and Pete. Sat outside with Jon, and told him about my struggles. He noticed the laser cut panels, and the weird hold alignments. 

Kicked off with the Embedded team - Margaret was in a cracking Christmas jumper. Drove to Tim's birthday at Chermside. Richard was there - he accidentally ate Jas' pizza and dad put cream on his face.

All hands - watched Michelle and V do an Olympic celebration. Established a draft risk management process with Kyle. 

Did the walk through of all the GenAI work for all the EMs - then in the evening started to put together a story map for the new work with Michelle and Tara. 

Ran through the new GenAI work with Thomas' teams. Showed them all the new APIs 

Coffee with Nathan at Belmont hospital - noticed the old lady with the Labrador sitting in the carpark. Came home and watched a movie with the boys, then took them to the park for soccer - it was slightly muddy. Made pizza for dinner, the anchovies went weird in the microwave. 

Took Kai for a run in the pram - he insisted on running back from park run to picot St Park. Took Jas to see the house for the first time, t Had a coffee at the racket club - then went and saw the plaster was mostly in. 

Tense day with Ben sending me a message that triggered me, a discussion with Jasneet that just fueled that fire - and then I messaged Aimee with a bit of a vent. Cried with Julie in bed - unloading about work. 

Really long day - researching planning with the team, following by a late last minute meeting with Bahar on GenAI metrics.

Session with Michelle and Tara - Tara lost it about Michaela and the research team for not involving us. 

Nath messaged me to tell me Bout his OD the week prior, and that he was in hospital. I called him on the way home to check in on him.
