Digital Memory Palace

Had to run upstairs to listen for Kai as he slept - while Julie went to pickup AJ. He woke up, then insisted on interrupting my call with Drew on the roadmap to tell me about "apples and bananas"

Took AJ to play with Tarlo at the all abilities park out at Everton Park. Kai loved the mock plates of food, he and I sat at the little table while he simulated serving food.

Made pizza late in the day - then took the boys for a scooter ride. AJ screamed "No! No! No!" while I pushed him fast down the curved steep path behind Picot St park.

Had a 2h session with AB, Jon, and Chris to talk data model and relationships. Really struggled to follow along - my head was very hazy with a cold creeping in.

Late meeting with the whole CPM team - ran through out Content Insights work, and got their feedback on the roadmap.

Me with Kanwaljit to unpack her self assessment and to talk about a career in Product.

Had my first 1:1 with Jared where he wanted to learn about me. Then talked with Barnaby, Jon, and Jared to sort out my role and overall structure.

First time in the office for a while - Thomas told me about his LandCruiser order. Popped out to grab coffee for Andrew in the afternoon to give my eyes a rest 

Went grocery shopping at Toowong with AJ. Found a 500g jar of garlic  Started making a game with AJ on the PC. Swapped the coins for a picture of his head.

Seafood lunch with the family to celebrate dad's upcoming 60th. I goofed up the drinks order, ordering two glasses of wine my accident

Workshopped the bulk import flow with Sarah, then met with Jon to sort out my new role 

Ran the five Q&A sessions for the quarterly planning. Brandon asked a bunch of things, and as finally reconnected with the UK after rescheduling

Had a call with Barnaby, and got cornered with Jon about exploring a role with him. It shocked me or was so candidly discussed to move me on. The next meeting didn't help - looking at my org chart, and exploring where those individuals should be moved to.

Met with Tom and Marc to tell them both about needing to find a new role. Both were shocked, but we're pondering what they might have.

Kai had his surgery - got a call from Julie with him screaming telling me he had to stay overnight. Arrived with a go bag, to find him playing.

Tried to run - made it to Herston Rd, but felt horrible so bailed and came home. Dad came over, he brought Macca's for the boys. I scrubbed the bedroom walls to clean them. I half-slept in the afternoon after feeling horrible.

Played Lego with the boys - Kai loved the camera, so I took my SLR out for him to play with, but it was dead. Went with Geremy, Julien, and Julien's girlfriend and friend to dinner and the movies. We squeezed into a four person booth at sushi, then say 'Everything, everywhere, all at once'. It was brilliant, particularly the scene with the rocks talking. Swung by the Jungle office on the lift back - first time I'd been there. Geremy gave me cookies and a box of pineapple pizza shapes.

Talked to Barnaby - he talked about me being beat suited elsewhere, and suggested I talk to a few of the execs to explore roles. I was upset, but equally thankful he finally was direct about the situation. On the upside - we won the 'most complete' award at the hackathon. Terry and Joyce both posted it to LinkedIn, so was pumped to see them so happy. Bumped into Jess picking up Indian for dinner - finally met Kei.

Took a day off sick - tried to attend the hackathon meeting, but had to call it.

First day of the hackathon - met with Jon to tell him about my fears on my role, and asked if he'd consider me for a role in his org if it came to that. Hacked together a feedback tool for content partners to understand poor content.

First regular session with the coorp team - was good to share and learn. Went to go to bed - but the boys were in my spot snuggling. so I slept in the small bed.

Had beers with Diego after school - Diego picked AJ and I up in the rain.

Mother's day - made Julie a breakfast platter on the round pizza board. Met mum and Tim at Chermside for lunch - ran through the centre with the boys on our shoulders.

Took AJ shopping with me for shorts - stopped to get a doughnut with him, then got a haircut after.

Wired meeting with Barnaby about my role - only to have Andrew reach out to me to talk about a possible role, which explained it. Felt rather upset by it all 

Workshop on the product design vision - felt good to finally acknowledge the management later need.

Mum and Nan came by - took the stroller out to help them, only to realise it was 1:30pm. So way too early for AJ's pickup. Later I gave Nan a big hug, and she talked about how lovely the boys were - and how Kai warmed up to her.

Found out about Marylyn's husband being a motorsport guy - and owning a formula V racer. 

Coffee with Pragyan at the brickhouse - first time I'd need him in many years. Noticed his intricate hexagonal sleeve tattoo.

Took Kai to meet Nam for the first time - having lunch together. She bought the boys hot wheels cars with keys that could be pushed into them to launch them

Took the boys to see The Wiggles - AJ took a long time to warm up. Bumped into Kim and Holly on the way out.
