Digital Memory Palace

Found out about the UK customer looking to move away from the work Margaret and I spent so long coordinating. 

Met the new SVP of Sales in the US, seemed like a switched on guy. Talked about living in Manhattan Came home to watch the blood moon eclipse with Julie on the balcony. 

Said farewell to John S, then got to drive an EV for the first time in Jon's Jaguar. It was hilariously fast. 

Morning catch up with Thomas to plan Ric's start. Tried to plug my charger in but there was a spec of dirt or something in the port. Had to charge it from the right hand side 

Made pancakes - dad turned up to eat them with us. Took the family to Roma St Parkland in the afternoon - AJ hand a tantrum and pee'd his pants. 

Spaced the 86's undertray to clear the headers - seemed to make a difference. Took the whole family to Sally and Jason's for a BBQ - first time that they've met the kids (and the first time Julie met Luci)

Jess' baby shower at Sassafras at Paddington. We talked to Margaret, Thomas, and Alan over zoom and enjoyed a coffee and a chat. Nath came around afterwards and we talked about the difficult week.

Went to Garden City and picked up a bunch of baby clothes for Jess ahead of her maternity leave. Had to get some advice from Julie over the phone.

Had a really tough conversation with the executive about my role and some feedback on some recent work. My boss in the US helped support me in the course of the call. It was good feedback, but I really let it bum me out.

Super early call with the large UK customers US team - took it from the bottom of AJ's bunk bed. Had the call with a content provider in the evening - told them our timelines, and that set off the commercial contact about them expecting it done by July 1st, not started in July.

 Brought Margaret and Pete together to talk through how their standards need to support each other - and get them to start thinking and talking about design.

Julie met Jenny for the first time at the Brickhouse. We stood near the plant shop in the cold wind. Made a kangaroo pie with purple carrots 

Helped Boyd move the couches to Bribie - then took AJ to the fruit shop at Ashgrove. Talked to Julie about being overwhelmed at work. 

Karaoke with Layla and the Product team to say farewell. I'd lost my voice and struggled, Lud killed it. 

First meeting to Make Content Good and the Unified Partner Platform. Both went OK. 

Gave Chris the custom book I made for him. His reaction was wonderful - he was so happy he came around to hug me. 

Had to fill up on the way to work. Stopped at the station next to the German sausage hut - filled up and saw a family in a beat up Hyundai Accent with a child in the back. The guy had his card fail when he tried to pay - I felt horrible for him. I should have tried to pay on his behalf. 

New starter lunch for Paresh and Jasneet who joined at work - had a Pepsi max and ran back to my meeting. 

Mothers day - I hid Julie's flowers and chocolates above the fridge and got the boys to give them to her. Walked to Crust and Co with the mothers, we stopped and all spent time playing on the slide - and then later the gym equipment. Say Adam and Dhalia in the evening - late after I fell asleep and forgot 

Went to dads to see them both and drive the Mustang they have. Managed to clip their curb with my rim in the 86 - then went and drove the Mustang. Really struggled with the clutch which was much softer and higher than the 86.

Had the girls wave and carry on behind me on a call with a partner - then later got tapped to come and say goodbye to Geo.

Ran the domain allocation and principles session, and a team meeting - first day I felt everything really gelled as part of the Product team. 

Kai woke up and I managed to get him into a laughing fit. Sat with him in bed, and AJ woke up and joined in. 

Met with Christian to begin the market analysis. There wasn't much there. 

We took the boys to New Farm Park - Kai enjoyed and playing the xylophone. I held both boys and spun around the spinning top. In the afternoon we saw Dave and Vin for the first time since covid at the brickhouse - Vin had shorter hair, and they talked about kids and knock down rebuilds. 

Dave came around and helped me switch the black and red couches around. The black one was much harder to get upstairs thanks to that one longer piece. 

Went to Alex's and bumped into Slav - brought him to our table to share breakfast. Afternoon haircut, gym, and shopping - before making pizza with AJ. I used Porcino ham on it for the first time - it worked really well. 

Received my pay and got the referral bonus for Jeffrey. Also did Ben's handover for his 2 week holiday that snuck up on me. 

Met my first mentee through the revised mentor program - Nikita. Set a goal for an internship within 8 weeks.
