Went to bunnings after Ba Ngoi's - got flyscreen repair equipment. I then had an afternoon drink with Thomas at the Regatta Hotel - we had Pims, and then I drove him home - seeing his place for the first time.

Went with Julie to a park in Rochdale to see school friends - I took AJ on a pedal car on an oval monorail track. I climbed up the outcome and into the wooden playground with him - it was tight getting back down inside. Took beer to Dave's in the evening - most bottle shops were closed, so I had to park next to Toyota at Kedron and walk down to BWS on Gympie Rd.

Took AJ to do the shopping - paid cash for a change, with the leftover cash from selling the Galaxy S8 phones the other week. Then went out to bunnings to get plastic containers for packing, only to realise they were wrong. I went back to bunnings to swap them - then onto dad's (via KFC with AJ) to get the pressure washer and leftover clothes from Christmas.

First day looking at houses in a long time - looked at a big brick house at Lutwytche that had floral carpet and greek style columns at the front - then drove to Julie's mums to see the painting for the first time. Had Alan - some guy from PF - kindly drop around his heat wrap to me. We talked about cars, he'd just bought a Megane 265

Walked to the markets - had roast pork Bahn Mi and then some cakes. AJ and I bought fish - salmon, as it was the only non-whole fish. AJ gave the African man playing guitar the change. I went to a BBQ at Roberto's - first time I've been there. Saw Dusan, Anna, and Diego. Came. Home and fed AJ on the balcony - he got bitten by many mosquito's and welted up.

Dave Boyle came over for the first time since Kai was born - he brought some banana and chocolate cake. I took AJ down to the Ballymore area for dogs, then across the bridge and to the hockey fields. While some guys played soccer - we kicked his small soccer ball around, taking turns to go in-goal and stop the shots.

Intended to take AJ to Chermside to look at phones at JB after I recently killed my Pixel - but traffic was too bad, so I pulled off at the stand-alone JB at Kedron. On the way home I took AJ to the park near the Enoggera police station - I through leaves into the concrete drain from the cycle bridge, which really upset AJ.

Drop to Toombul to get a belt - couldn't find anything suitable between K-mart and Target. Went to Aldi to get a book for Julie - the lady in front tried to let me ahead, but I couldn't see how with the large new screens in place - so just said thank you and let her go. Got my belt at DFO - parked on the dirt on the opposite side of the road.

Drove to Alex's and had coffee with Christina - I followed AJ around the antique store and we pretended to hide at the front in among the statues. For dinner I made the first candlelit dinner since Kai came along - make butter searched sirloin steaks, duck fat potatoes (first time I'd used duck fat), roast pumpkin, and garlic and butter beans.

AJ and I walked to Gia to get a coffee and a Tim Tam slice - before walking to the park behind Ballymore to eat it. I noticed the hair salon and checked if Julie wanted to organize a haircut - then took a picture of AJ next to a gargoyle-like face on an old brick fence. We pretended to be pirates looking for and burying treasure along the gravel path at Ballymore.

Ordered dinner from Paddington Curry House in the undercover parking at work - they told me they're moving to Milton, but couldn't tell me the address. Was intimate with Julie - after I felt out of breath and woozy, very abnormal for me to be out of breath with my running. I laid down on the floor just in case - but I was fine.

Up super early to meet the PF guys at Keperra Bunnings for a mountain run. Didn't really know anyone there - but chatted to a few people. One of the drivers was from 'The Nugget Garage' YouTube show in his AE86. It started raining, so we stood under the awning of the Bunnings loading dock. After driving over Mt Glorious, I peeled off to pee and turned back to follow an Alfa Romeo 4C back over the mountain.

Morning coffee with Holly, Kim, and Eidie - went to their new house for the first time, and walked down the road the cafe. We stopped in a park for AJ to play, and to sit and eat and drink. In the afternoon I picked up some Nintendo Labo for AJ, and we built the RC car (more of a bug, really) and fishing rod - playing together

Long sleep in after feeling lousy after yesterday at work - had a reasonable day of progress, but hit a wall in the evening with some difficult calls/conversations. It really drained me and set me back after yesterday. I had some scotches - and sat on the couch hugging AJ and watching 'The Incredibles 2' with him

Julie's birthday - had to wait for ages before we could eat the three-layer cheesecake I made. Jas popped around to say happy birthday, so we let her in and had cake with her. I moved the couches into a U shape, after AJ and I made a cave with them and pulled out his teepee to create a little house as well.

Talked to our VP of Product and aligned on the challenges and how we'd work - then started on the work for the CEO where I tried to get it going really well to make-up for the friction the other day. Walked to ALDI to get food - first time properly shopping since lockdown. It was seemingly normal there... maybe a little quiet, but not as crazy as I expected.

Checked out and walked to the office - got a banana and pecan bagel on the way in. Presented at the EoW call, then rushed to the airport. There were no screens in the plane - so I read my book. Watched the woman next to me nearly have her laptop crushed when the guy in front sat back - we both laughed.

Finally signed my work contract - agreed to it as-is. Went for a drive with Jack from work in his RS3, slower than I expected - certainly not Evo fast (not even 98 octane Evo fast) Got take away from the Chinese place between Carroway Pier and the Japanese Sushi train at Kelvin Grove. Parked underneath Woolworths, where a guy had the card machine apart doing some maintenance on it.

First day dropped AJ off at daycare before work - he behaved himself, although I was a little late. Ran very late in the night - only intended to do a 5k but ran past the turn. Did a fast 5k, then a slower 7k loop back - before standing in the bedroom with the air-con while Julie breastfed Kai so I could cool down.

First day back to work - got brought into the Executive Strategy day which was interesting, but took a lot of my time and I fell further behind in my catch-up work. Went running after work - and Dennis called me. We talked about him being in Lisbon now, and his experiences in India, and how Nepal is his favourite place.

Went out and bought our new microwave - sitting in the carpark at JB Hifi Kedron to talk to Nathan. First sim race since Kai was born - raced an exhibition round of the 60's prototypes - managing a good result of 11th in the first race, and 4th in the second (7th if they didn't deliberately crash in front of me)

Drove to Merlo for a coffee with AJ on the way to shopping - beeped at a ute who didn't indicate before the driveway. He came up to the car - but we somewhat calmly talked about him not indicating and it was diffused. Drove to Dave's in the evening to pick up my new server RAM and SSDs for my desktop, and Tim's laptop.

First trip outside of the house with Kai - we took him to a cafe at Paddington near the large antique store to see Julie's mums group friends. Drove to Dave Boyle's in the evening - he shared stories about his trip to Korea, including his food poisoning. I got an old 750ti graphics card for him to test with my server.

Took Kai to get weighed at Alderly - his first outing since the hospital. He was up at 3.2kg, gaining on his discharge weight. Spent the day rebuilding the server to make space for a GPU - had issues with the umart 5.25 to 3.5 drive bays as my Seagate 8tb drive was missing the middle mounting holes required.

Took AJ to Chermside, we had coffee, played in the playground, bought a new 3.5mm to RCA cable from JB, then went to the arcade to finish the credit on my card leftover from Dave's birthday. Started Terminator: Date Fate in the evening, but felt too unwell and stopped it mid-way through to go to bed.

Interview with Amazon this morning after staying home - rather than at the hosptial. It was muggy, and I had to turn the air con on. Mum came and met Kai in the hospital later in the evening - I walked her to the carpark after. Talked to Abilio about Amazon as I walked to Nando's as Southbank for dinner - Then got back to find an email saying Amazon wouldn't persue me anymore.

Drove to see Tim and AJ over lunch - bought some cream for AJ's rash, then grabbed some sushi for lunch. Opened up all the windows at Mum's house to help with the heat. Stayed at the hospital with Julie & Kai until 8:30pm'ish - then went home, did a bit of tidying up, then crashed out early for the interview tomorrow.
